12 September 2025 in Melbourne, supported by Striborg, ESP Mayhem and Drealm.

This was a cassette launch for Your Mothers Disgusting Window, a doomy sludge three-piece. But I will get to that.

The first act was Drealm who may have been my favourite of the night. They played multiple drone synths and a theremin (a Moog Theremini) with a video of a tour of a Japanese fly fishing shop in the background. If I remember rightly, they played in long form rather than stopping between tracks, and the best bit was when they played the theremin with their leg (pictured).

Next was the reason we went which was to see cybergrind band ESP Mayhem again. Once again they were great although the sound was not as good as it was at the Last Chance.

Third was the sartorially inconsistent Striborg, who I discovered later is an absolute stalwart of the black metal and blackwave scene. His set was very goth-flavoured which genre wise is really not my thing. I would like to think he invented Comfort Goth, the older and wiser sibling of Health Goth.

Striborg also came on at the end of the headline act's set to lend his vocals. Your Mothers Disgusting Window were great, the vocalist played sludgy bass and the two guitarists contributed lots of feedback. I grabbed a copy of their tape which included a download link (that is how it's done, thank you).

Mamma Chen, you've done it again. I love that this venue has so many weird and good shows.
