Our wonky son

Our wonky son
never leave

A few weeks ago we had to get a birthday present for a small human and the suggestion was to get a Labubu. Neither ourselves nor the suggester were aware that Labubus have become a worldwide, celebrity-driven collectible craze, so it wasn't easy to find one but an online store appeared to provide the goods.

Except. You know when your gut tells you something is wrong. We looked further and found a review site that was full of one-star reviews for our online store exposing it as a scam. Oh no. Attention was then turned to trying to cancel the transaction.

But then: a delivery notification! A real one? Something was on its way. This was kind of exciting. What on earth were they sending us? By the time the delivery driver sent a photo of the package on our doorstep we were giddy with anticipation.

It was... kind of a Labubu? The stitching is bad, he tilts to one side, and his left leg kinks inwards. But put it this way, we are no longer seeking a refund. He is our wonky son and we love him.

Fake Labubus are now known as Lafufus. Lafufus now have their own subreddit for sharing and rolling around in their dodgy glory. People are modding them to make them weirder, uglier, cuter, and so on. Just like the dolls from the reject bin in Mr Grimes' Toy Factory, Lafufus live and I think they will eclipse the Labubu craze.
